I finally tried out The Spa, at the Podium. Saaraaaap solid. It's my new favorite spa. I availed of their Sea Salt Body Scrub Treatment. I didn't know which one to get at first, actually. I wanted the Honey Body Polish because according to their website, it takes "relaxation to a whole new level!". Hehe, talaga ha. They're both scrubs, but the Sea Salt Scrub includes a massage and the Honey Body Polish doesn't so okay, Sea Salt Body Scrub nalang.
I'm actually a body treatment virgin, even if I've gone to several spas already. Usually I just take a shower, get a massage then leave. It's my first time ever to get something other than a massage. I started my The Spa experience by taking a shower and staying in their sauna. Whoo sarap, I literally felt sweat beads forming everywhere. After the sauna, shower ulit. I like their shower heads, it's these huge, circular shower heads that you stand under. After changing back to my robe, I was led to this sitting room and given ginger tea. The sitting room was really just that, a sitting room. It's this dimly lit, narrow hallway between the locker rooms and the massage and body treatment areas. It's pretty freaky, mukhang columbarium. Hehe. You're faced with this wall of candles behind dark glass panes. So anyway, after my tea, I was led to one of their treatment rooms so we can start with the scrub.
According to The Spa website, the Sea Salt Body Scrub treatment "uses natural refined sea salts and essential oils, blended together for the ultimate body exfoliation." No kidding. I feel like I'm scrubbed raw and clean. The attendant (argh forgot her name!) rubbed every single inch of my body. As in every single inch, wala talagang tinira. Mejo shy shy pa ko nung una. It was like the first time I got a bikini wax. Hello! Ni nanay ko nga di pa ko nakikita in all my naked glory ever since I was, what, eight? But I'm like, what the hell, I'm sure they're used to these things. So... scrub away! The sea salts felt rough against my skin, but not too rough that they actually hurt. Just the right kind of rawness to make me feel extra exfoliated. The treatment was followed by a shower and a one-hour body massage by a different attendant. My skin felt really smooth and soft after. Ang linis ng feeling.
Chinika ko yung attendant ko. She said the Honey Body Polish is good daw because they also involve natural sea salts but with the added benefit of milk and honey. They wrap your body with milk and honey so your skin is extra smooth and soft after. Huwow! I wanna try that. I have a wedding to attend in December and backless suot ko. Nyahh! Kelangan nang magpascrub ng husto!
The whole spa has this Monastic theme. It's quite bare and the color blue is the main color of the place. There are different themes per branch, like in Alabang, may pagka Oriental, in Greenbelt naman may pagka Zen. I love the ambience in Podium, though. It's clean and sparse but still quite relaxing. I didn't wanna leave the place, really, but oh well. I guess that's how I gauge a spa, if it makes me feel like I just want to stay there for some time or if I just want to get out and go home. I actually wanted to do both, I wanted to stay there, but then I wanted to get out and share this experience with other people.
So yeah do check out The Spa when you're in the area!

Left to right: The entrance, the locker area and shower area upon entry,
This is the treatment room. You also get your very own shower area, aside pa from the bathtub.

naku! i'm long overdue na for a good body scrub! nag-accumulate na lahat ng di-pantay na tanlines sa katawan ko sa kaka-outdoors! masubukan nga yan. di ako nasusulitan sa spa ko sa fort, yung neo day spa but then sa massage lang yun.
Monix! Neo Day Spa at the fort is next on my to-try-out list. Di masyado ok? Di ka pa nagpascrub don? Meron silang scrub na gamit, wasabi. Haha. Sounds interesting. Tsaka young rice something, pero whitening yon at ayoko naman magpaputi.
Di pa ako nagpapascrub dun. Balak ko very soon. Tapos I'll let you know. Massage pa lang natry ko doon eh, yung toning na massage na nakakawala ng cellulite haha
