Shallowness galore!

Ever since I passed my thesis proposal, I've had too much time on my hands.

So what do I do?

I go shopping.

Megamall has been my retail therapy venue of choice. In fairness to SM Department store ha. They've really got it all for you. I scored two pairs of skinny jeans and three tops, all below a thousand bucks. San ka pa?

I also got myself a new white mini skirt. Mwehehe. I figured, what the hell. I saw some varicose veins brewing at the back of my knees so kelangan magsuot na ng magsuot ng mga miniskirt habang may oras pa. Besides, when I'm forty, I'll look back on these days and think I never looked as good as I did back then. I'll wear more subdued clothing when I absolutely have no choice but to wear subdued clothing, as when I am 40 or 50 years old. So, in the meantime, hala sige! Mini skirt na to hangga't pwede.

While I was going around Megamall, naisip ko, I really do want to make a lot of money for the simple, utterly superficial reason that I want to be able to buy beautiful clothes. Ang shallow ko na talaga. Hindi man lang para tumulong sa mga magulang ko, or magpaaaral ng mga batang nangangailangan. Siguro kasama na din yon. I do want to stop being such a burden to my parents. Bottom line is, I just want to be able to be financially independent so I can spend without worrying about how to pay my bills. I want to be really in control of my finances and I want to be able to live a comfortable life with the money I earned, with the money I worked hard for.

My master plan really is to finish this MA, work for five years (teaching and/or working at a non-profit organization) and save enough money to open my own business. It's really my dream to be a social entrepreneur, so sana by the time I'm 30, I can start my own business already.

P.S. It's Armin Van Buuren later! I'm looking forward to it because it's a Friday and I really just want to spend time with my friends. Nicole can't go because she has this thing with her in-laws. Tish is feeling guilty about going because her fiance Ferdi can't go. Things are changing fast. But that, my friends, is a topic for another time.
