So what you do, you start with out with the scrub na kagad. Wala nang shower shower, sauna sauna at kung ano pa, unlike The Spa. Wala nang madaming seremonyas! They provide you naman with your own robe, disposable underwear, shower cap and slippers. Kumpleto talaga lahat. For the scrub, they use all-natural virgin coconut oil and citrus-scented sea salts. I love the scent of the scrub! The scrub was thorough naman and the sea salts they used weren't harsh to the skin. Afterwards, the attendant, Mae (yey finally remembered the name!) led me to a shower at the end of the hallway. I wish I was given my own private shower though, but oh well. The shower area was clean enough, and they used these large circular shower heads you stand under, which I love.
After the shower, it's time for the massage. I think it's my favorite part of the whole thing. Mae used this mixture of honey and milk as she gave me a Swedish Massage. I was literally dripping in honey. Parang I dove into a swimming pool of honey and emerged covered in this thick, gooey, honey mixture. Pwede na kong pagpyestahan ng mga langgam. Or ng bear. Heck I smelled so sweet I wanted to eat myself. Hehe. Afterwards I took another shower, this time without soap. I just needed to wash the honey mixture off, which surprisingly wasn't hard to do. My skin didn't feel sticky at all! Sayang lang the scent didn't linger after the shower. I could have smelled like honey the whole day! Still, I suppperrr love the polish. They said the whole thing lasts for just an hour, pero parang I felt like I was there for a longer period. I love how the whole thing made my skin feel smooth and soft after. Mapapansin mo talaga yung difference so alam mong sulit yung bayad mo.
The hallway where you walk around after your shower. My god, what if biglang dumating si John Lloyd Cruz? Ack! Que horror talaga. Thankfully, nobody was around while I was there. Handy tip! Go to spas on Sunday afternoons. There aren't many people at that time so you get a little more privacy than usual.
If you're looking for a thorough scrub plus massage, you might wanna check this out, Urban Spa Luxury Body Polish. For only 1,500 you get the benefits of a scrub plus a Swedish massage. Worth it naman because the ingredients they use are top-quality and you really notice the difference. I've tried their Le Urban Spa Signature Massage, a combination of Swedish and Shiatsu and Thai massage before. Saaaraaaap solid, nothing beats it, not even the massage I got sa The Spa or other spas I've tried.
But but, here's the thing, if you want an experience, like if you really want to relax, go through the motions of shower, sauna, tea and the like, baka you're better off checking other spas. For one thing, Urban Spa is really small. There are no fountains, or dizzying hallways or what have yous. The place is dimly lit and soft, soothing music is constantly played. Other than that, Urban Spa doesn't have the ethereal ambience of other spas. Parang express kasi yung mga service dito. You get in, do your thing, then get out. (Nyahaha that sounds kinky, but I digress!) This is perfect for people on the go. They have express massages, facials and stuff and they can even serve you lunch if you want to go during lunch hour. Meron din silang packages you can avail of if you really want to stay for the whole afternoon.
