Fashion schmasion

I just got home from the Global Pinoy Bazaar at Rockwell Tent and ang daming magaganda! So many beautiful shoes, bags, jewelry, etc. Shet talaga lumabas lahat ng kalandian sa katawan ko! I was practically drooling. I wanted to get so many things but alas! Pulubi nation muna so all I got was this laptop bag. But what a laptop bag!

promise ko sa sarili ko, pagnagka pera ulit ako, bazaars galore na ito!

Speaking of fashion, E was once again sporting his "original skinhead" attire with matching bitin pants and Doc Martens. Which, by the way, he knows I absolutely detest. Sana pinicturan ko. Oh well. The picture to the right is an example of skinhead culture, even if this British (Bree-ish) dude is not a skinhead. Parang ganyan yung porma ni E, except that he wasn't wearing a scarf and his Doc Martens were black, not red. Wala rin syang suot na leather jacket. The first thing he said to me when we met up was "I know what you're thinking, it's those pants again!" In fairness to him, one look palang sa mukha ko at gets na gets na talaga nya ko. E is a HUGE ass fanatic of the skinhead culture and fashion. I don't know much about it but I do know that the skinhead movement emerged as an offshoot of the British "mod" culture in the 1960s.

I suppose the skinhead fashion is really a distinct kind of fashion. Powerhouse brands such as Ben Sherman and Fred Perry are all staples of this culture. (P.S. Ang ganda ng Fred Perry ha, in fairness. Pag ako naging lalake, at may pera naman, bibili ako ng sandamakmak na Fred Perry, like the uber-cool Mr. Paul Weller to the left here) But what the heck do I know right? I'm no expert. Besides, who I am to talk? Shoulder pads in the eighties? *Shudder* But what can I say? Naconscious ang gaga, tangena. Damn these middle class sensibilities! Paano ba naman mukha talaga syang pankista, diyosmio. "Punk is VERY different from skinhead, for your information." ) I told him flat out, "I really hate that style but I'm trying my very hardest to not give you shit about it." Aba tinawanan lang ako! "O what do you want? You want me to walk behind you, ma'am? Pretend to be your driver?" Argh. So I tell him, "Eh bakit kasi kelangan bitin pants naman, pare. Andami dami mong Fred Perry, bakit hindi nalang yon?" Shet tinawanan lang ako ulit. Can't say I blame him though. Siguro nga kanya kanyang trip lang sa buhay.

When we parted though, he goes "Allright, if it bothers you that much, you're never seeing these pants again." Heehee.
